Yoga For Rebirth
Rebirth yoga poses are gentle, grounding movements that help us shed the old and welcome the new—just like nature does. Think of them as symbolic stretches that awaken the body, heart, and spirit. These poses often focus on opening the chest, hips, and spine—areas where we tend to hold onto past emotions and tension.
Key positions and their benefits
Child’s Pose (Balasana). A pose of surrender. It helps you reconnect with your breath, body, and inner stillness—like returning to the womb.
Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana). Opens the chest and heart. A powerful way to release old emotional weight and rise into new energy.
Cobra Pose (Bhujangasana). Symbolic of the snake shedding its skin. This pose energizes the body and brings a sense of rising anew.
Camel Pose (Ustrasana). Deep heart-opening. Brings courage and vulnerability—ideal for inviting new love, light, and inspiration into your life.
Supine Twist (Supta Matsyendrasana). Helps to release what no longer serves you and detox the spine—both physically and emotionally.
Supported Fish Pose (Matsyasana, supported) A restorative heart-opener. Lie back on a block or cushion, arms open wide. Imagine sunlight pouring into your heart space.
Lotus Pose or Easy Pose (Padmasana or Sukhasana). Sit tall in stillness at the end of your practice. Focus on your intention—what are you being reborn into?
Cat-Cow (Marjaryasana-Bitilasana) Gently awakens the spine and brings awareness to the natural rhythm of breath and movement. A perfect way to stir the energy of rebirth.
